At many universities, you may start off as a “pre-nursing major.” That was my experience at CSULB. Being a pre-nursing major means that your spot in nursing school is not guaranteed and that you have to compete to get in. Other schools allow you to go directly into the major or program. 

I will mostly be writing about the process of getting into CSULB’s nursing program. I was totally clueless when I first started so I hope give some clarity to those hoping to go to this specific program.
